Back-to-school time upon us and once many mothers get everything organized, in terms of getting their kids back to school, their minds will eventually turn to back to work. They'll be thinking about what they can do in business and how they can improve their financial prospects.
BrightStar Healthcare CEO Shelly Sun visited WGN's studios on Monday to discuss how women can get a leg-up as business owners.
She says the three-most important attributes for women starting their own business are "hard work, passion and resilience".
As for the state of the economy, she says that while times are tough, it's never really been a good time to start a business, i.e. it's always going to be expensive and daunting to go it alone in business.
She also advices women to cut the emotion out of business, but not the compassion. 'High performance with a heart,' she calls it.
'Do your research' is some sound advice that she offers at the end of the interview.
