Captain D’s Opens New Arkansas Location
Captain D’s opened its newest franchised restaurant location in Rogers, Arkansas Monday. The location is the brand’s ninth in the state and the second location for franchisees Brian Smith and Rodney Coats, chief executive officer and chief financial officer of the restaurant development group SmitCo D’s Inc. The group plans to open six more restaurants in Northwest Arkansas and Southwest Missouri. The success of the group’s first location in Springdale, opened in December 2015, inspired the franchisees to continue expanding into Northwest Arkansas.
Billy Sims BBQ Expands in Kansas
Billy Sims BBQ opened a new Kansas location in Newton on Thursday June 30. The 2,400 square-foot restaurant is the third of at least five units planned to open in Kansas this year. Franchise partners Dave Dunn and Sean O’Brien operate additional Billy Sims BBQ locations in Andover, Arkansas City, Chanute, and Dodge City, and they have plans to open several more locations throughout the state. The duo is excited about the Billy Sims BBQ concepts and are opening nearby locations as fast as they can.
Nestlé® Toll House® Café by Chip® Opens Its First Pierre Bossier Mall Location
Nestlé® Toll House® Café by Chip® recently opened its new kiosk location in Pierre Bossier Mall in Bossier City, Louisiana. The Pierre Bossier Mall location, owned by franchisee Terry Watkins along with her husband Rick and their two daughters Shelby and Taylor, is the second Louisiana location and is among nearly 150 locations worldwide. The Watkins family invites all in the local area to come experience their kiosk’s freshly baked treats, delicious coffee, and warm, welcoming environment.
Jersey Mike’s Subs Opens Eighth Location in Jacksonville
Jersey Mike’s Subs recently opened its eighth Jacksonville location. Franchise owner Michael Philips and operating partner Chris Causey held a grand opening on June 22. They are also holding a free sub fundraiser that started with their grand opening and will run to Sunday July 3 to support Wolfson Children’s Hospital. The new restaurant circulated 7,500 coupons offering a free regular sub for a minimum $2 donation. Jersey Mike’s locations across the country have raised nearly $18 million for local charities and causes.
UFC Gym Opens Its First Location in Tucson
UFC Gym franchisee Benjamin Chupp will be opening the first UFC location in Tucson. The nearly 9,000 square-foot gym is highlighted by a 24-foot Octagon® and cutting-edge training techniques inspired by UFC athletes. The new gym is set to open in August. Before the launch, Tucson residents will have the opportunity to visit a preview center adjacent to the soon-to-be-opened gym. Since its debut in 2009, UFC Gym has opened more than 135 locations in the US, Australia, Canada, South America, and the United Arab Emirates. The franchise continues to expand with over 30 gyms planned to open in the next year.
