Nathan's Famous Celebrates 100th Anniversary with Celebrity Radio Spots
Nathan's Famous restaurants are marking their 100th anniversary with a series of radio ads featuring national and local celebrities. The "celebrity open mic"-style series, which launched May 16, is comprised of 60-second ads featuring Whoopi Goldberg, Regis Philbin, Kathy Griffin, and Walt Frazier as well as New York City area radio personalities such as Evan Roberts and Rich Kaminski sharing their favorite memories to the Nathan's Famous brand, its flagship Coney Island location, and wishing Nathan's a happy birthday. The series has no formal script and the celebrities chosen have a passion for the iconic brand.
AAMCO Celebrates 1st Anniversary of AAMCO University
During the first quarter of 2015, AAMCO opened a specialized training facility in Newnan, Georgia as part of the franchise's long-term strategy to drive operational excellence and growth. In the past year, AAMCO University has had over 800 trainees complete over 10,500 courses and has graduated 11 New Dealer classes. The university offers a range of programs and an expansive curriculum at its School of Franchise Ownership, School of Management, School of Technical Excellence, and School of Franchise Support. The transmission and car care brand will continue to raise the bar; in the coming year, AAMCO University will introduce training courses on the brand's new customer experience approach. The brand will also launch a training program around its new Brake Services packages.
Johnny Rockets Receives Presidential Award for Exports
The President's "E" Awards for Exports are awarded to US companies for making a significant contribution to the expansion of US exports. US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker presented Johnny Rockets with the "E" Award in a ceremony in Washington DC based on its franchise and sales success overseas. A total of 123 US companies were presented with the award this year, but Johnny Rockets was the only restaurant to receive the honor.
Wienerschnitzel Featured on 100th Episode of "Undercover Boss"
The CEO of Wienerschnitzel Cindy Galardi Culpepper will appear on the 100th episode of the CBS series "Undercover Boss", which will air on Sunday May 22. The episode will feature Culpepper disguised with a nose ring and dark hair with purple highlights and going by the name of "Louise". The CEO visited franchise locations in Arizona, Utah, and Texas where she operated the drive thru, managed trainees, assembled the brand's famous chili cheese dogs, and mopped floors. She also went undercover as an employee at vendor partner Kent Quality Foods, which makes the franchise's hot dogs. Culpepper noted the experience as humbling and life-changing.
Mosquito Squad Launches Zika News Website
Mosquito Squad has launched a significant education initiative in sharing valuable information about the prevention of mosquito-borne diseases, focusing on the risks posed by the Zika virus. The franchise's Zika News Source™ features daily updates of the most recent and most noteworthy news about the virus. The website comes as part of the brand's continued efforts to educate the public on how to reduce mosquito breeding grounds, which would help slow the spread of the Zika virus.
