Nancy Bigley Named Chair of Women's Franchise Committee
Bottle & Bottega CEO Nancy Bigley has been appointed Chair of the Women's Franchise Committee for the International Franchise Association. Bigley has a valuable background within the franchising industry that made her a clear choice for the role. She has been a key figure in leading change for women in franchising, and she previously held the role of Vice Chair. Before her role as Bottle & Bottega's CEO, she led teams for Dunkin Brands, American Leak Detection, and The Dwyer Group. As Chair, Bigley will be responsible for leading a large network of professionals in strengthening the success of women in franchising.
Cathy Thorpe Named Nurse Next Door CEO
President of two years Cathy Thorpe has been promoted to CEO of Nurse Next Door. Her bold leadership as president dramatically expanded Nurse Next Door's franchise locations from 85 to 130 and grew the business by 30 percent. She joined Nurse Next Door as president in 2014 and has since helped the brand become one of the fasted growing home care providers in North America. Her leadership style has been described as disruptive but compassionate as she makes bold decisions and guides by heart. Thorpe led and accomplished an initiative to partner with St. Josephs Health and expand the franchise over 30 locations in the Southern California market, leading St. Joseph to become a franchisee of Nurse Next Door and marking the first time a hospital system has become a franchisee of a private duty homecare brand. As CEO, she will oversee strategic direction to enter new markets and excel the brand.
Home Care Assistance and Maria Shriver Partner for "Move For Minds"

Shakon Turner Hired as Valpak Franchise Sales Director
Shakon "Shak" Turner has recently joined Valpak as the Franchise Sales Director. In this role, she is responsible for securing new Valpak franchisees and assisting in the franchise resale process. Turner brings over 10 years' experience in the franchise industry as a top performer in sales and business development and a strong track record of success. She was previously Director of Business Development with Franchise Relationships Management Solutions, and before that was Director of Franchise Development at Front Burner Brands where she increased franchise sales by 15 percent in 2014.
Red Robin Appoints Carin Stutz as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Carin Stutz has recently been appointed as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Inc. In this role, Stutz is responsible for leading regional management teams that oversee the operational performance of over 440 company-owned North American Red Robin restaurants and 11 Red Robin burger Works locations. Stutz has more than 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry from president of McAlister's Deli to operations leadership roles for major brands including Chili's, Applebee's, and Wendy's. Stutz is also a pas board chair and member of the board of directors of the Woman’s Foodservice Forum.
