Holiday Themed Float

Last week we caught up with how franchises are making the most of the holiday with generous offerings tailored to their brand. Now we prepare to come together at the dining table and enjoy watching our favorite characters in larger than life Thanksgiving Day parade floats. A tradition that unites all for Thanksgiving reminds us to take a step back and enjoy the view. Take a look at how some of our favorite franchises are making big impressions this year!

McDonald’s Kicks Off Holidays in Chicago Thanksgiving Parade

This year marks the return of the 80th annual McDonald’s Thanksgiving Parade. WGN America will televise the November 24 occasion, featuring the nation's best marching bands, giant popular inflatable balloons, spectacular performance acts and much more! The McDonald’s Thanksgiving Parade is more than just a collection of balloons, bands and floats marching up State Street. It symbolizes a tradition of family celebration that is passed down from generation to generation. Of course, no parade is complete without Ronald who will once again lead off the traditional forward-motion portion, riding in his giant red shoe.

Homewood Suites Rolls On in Macy’s Parade

Homewood Suites has announced that the lodging franchise’s iconic Lewis the Duck float is returning! Based on the wonder of wooden pull toys, the On The Roll Again float features a colorful family of ducks in parade. The father duck, Lewis, is wearing his most dapper hat and carrying a backpack. The Homewood Suites by Hilton mascot takes the lead on this family getaway and pulls his family down the marching line.

Yum Brands Brings The Colonel to NYC for Macy’s Parade

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade has become synonymous with American Thanksgiving tradition. The parade has been televised nationally since 1952 and is famous for drawing in thousands of people in the streets of New York City. 2016 marks the 90th year of the parade with no shortage of big headliners. Yum Brand’s will bring out the Kentucky Fried Chicken's “The Colonel's Trip To NYC” float that features signs marking the route from Kentucky to NYC with plenty of red and white flair.

RE/MAX Soars Home to Chicago Parade

The RE/MAX Soaring Home Balloon from RE/MAX Northern Illinois made its first appearance in the McDonald’s Thanksgiving Day parade in 2015. Soaring Home is the most eye-catching member of the RE/MAX Northern Illinois balloon fleet. The real estate franchise’s float features children and pets peeking from the windows of a whimsical home that is appropriately marked with a “Sold” sign in the front yard. This crowd favorite was introduced to to the regional fleet in 2012 and appears frequently at festivals, parades and charity events across northern Illinois alongside the RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon.

Ronald McDonald Flies High in Macy’s Parade

Not only does McDonald’s sponsor the famous Chicago Thanksgiving Parade, the food franchise giant will also be present at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade. McDonald’s parade persona will appropriately showcase the “new” Ronald McDonald balloon decked out in a stylish yellow and red suit with bow tie. Ronald originally joined the parade in 1986 and is now in the fourth inception of the beloved brand mascot to float along in the legendary parade.
