Raising Your Franchise To The Next Level

How does a franchise go from just a run-of-the-mill organization to a globetrotting, unstoppable international force? This was something we considered in-depth when we released the Top 100 Global Franchises.

It’s a subject that Ray Borradale wrestled with on the BlueMauMau website recently. When you look inside your franchise set-up, how do you separate the great organizations from the ones that are merely ordinary. Ray identifies the following attributes of an elite franchise:

Their reputations tend to be based on financial success, high levels of compliance and strict selection criteria and processes. Disharmony is consciously minimized through a rational approach built into the operating systems of the franchisor, including but not limited to, training, support and a brand culture created within reasonable levels of collaboration and carefully considered communication systems and styles.

Ray offers a lot of insightful analysis on the subject. For a franchise to make that leap, it must strive tirelessly to ensure the success of its franchisees while solidifying its own financial standing. It’s a long and arduous practice, but these are very valuable guidelines for ambitious franchisors.
