We love blogging about innovations that are getting people into franchising. Yesterday we blogged about the website Sprigster and how it is helping get entrepreneurs the financing they need. Today we'd like to write about another great program that will help the franchising process, one that occurs further down the line than websites like Sprigster.
Kimco Realty, which operates one of the largest portfolios of local shopping centers in America, has decided to tackle the blight of empty retail spaces by launching a new program aimed directly at franchises. They've done so by launching the Fast Track Franchise program, which is a truly ingenious innovation. Basically, entrepreneurs can search either the website via a list of successful franchises like Anytime Fitness and Breugger's Bagels or by location itself, and find a retail space that's already ready to go.
Other property companies likes DDN have launched have similar programs.
"We've had more vacancies than in years past," Brett Cooper, Kimco leasing associate for the northeast U.S., told Entrepreneur's Be The Boss blog in their article about this innovation and this is a really progressive step for real estate companies to fill their vacancies.
In the end of the day, it's proof that the real estate is just another corner of American life that is awake to the economic possibilities that franchising brings.
