The International Franchise Association (IFA) 48th Annual Convention is scheduled to begin on the 9th and end on the 12th February at the Marriott World Center Orlando, Fl. It is promoted to be bigger and better than last year’s convention held in Las Vegas.According to the IFA “Franchising is growing and as the marketplace continues to evolve, it is your job as a savvy business executive to stay current on the latest strategies and best practices”.
This conference will not only be beneficial for franchisors and franchise executives, but also for potential franchisees: to give them an overview of some of the leading franchisors and franchise systems operating at the moment; and to understand the process of franchising and how successful it is.Franchisees can view franchise executive interviews, talks, programs, etc via live webcasts set up by Valpak. These live webcats will enable viewers to “attend” the conference. Access is available from the IFA website on the 10th and 11th February- http://www.franchise.org/.Program Details:
February 10th 4.30pm-8pm (EST) & 9.30pm-1am (GMT);
February 11th 12 noon-2.30pm (EST) & 5pm-7.30pm (GMT) and

The following franchise expo “The National Franchise and Business Opportunities Expo” (11-12th October 2008; Georgia International Convention Center) is one of the biggest and the best franchise expos in the U.S. It really is worth attending as you get the opportunity to meet over 1,500 franchise and business opportunity franchisors face-to-face and ask questions you really want answers to.
There will be seminars, talks and conferences for franchisees on all topics from choosing the right franchise, to financial assistance etc. If you click on this link you can receive a free franchise info pack with full details of the exhibition.
If you can’t wait until then, as it is a long way off, you can contact the IFA (International Franchise Association) to see if there are any local franchisors scheduling franchise seminars in your area. Or you can research the franchise industry on-line and request free information directly from a franchisor. In this way you can ask for their franchise package and contact other franchisees who are operating a franchise you are interested in finding out more information. If you are genuinely interested in a franchise, franchisees are more than happy to tell you about the advantages, benefits and disadvantages of the franchise operation.
