Much has been written about the opportunities available to military veterans through franchising both on this blog and on the internet at-large over the past year or two. For vets new to the topic, we’d like to suggest an excellent place to begin your search for information on franchising: a radio interview.
Over on the excellent WS Radio internet radio station, Jim Valentine and Scott Lagenhoff, hosts of the Veterans Benefits show, recently conducted a very interesting interview with Miriam Brewer, director of diversity and education with the International Franchise Association.
The in-depth interview provides background to the IFA’s VetFran program, a discussion on the next week's West Coast Franchise Expo, and many other topics of interest to military veterans who are intrigued by the possibility of franchise ownership.
The interview also explains the core attraction of buying a franchise:
"When we talk about franchising, we always say you are in business for yourself but not by yourself,” Miriam tells the hosts.
The hosts seemed intrigued. There’s more information for veterans on franchise ownership here with Franchise Direct, as well as our detailed directory of franchises offering discounts to military veterans.
