Food franchises continue to be the most enduring franchise sector in terms of popularity and profit. In this hyper-competitive industry, there are a number of trends that are driving its success in the future.
The ever-excellent Forbes magazine has profiled the growing trends in the food franchise sector for 2012. They say that while low-costs were the huge trend in food franchsiing for the last two years, a new phenomenon is emerging the food sector: tastier food.

Other new summer food items at other chains play off the flavors of summer, adding blueberries, peaches, and pecans to everything from salads and oatmeal. A personal fave idea: Berry almond chicken salad at Wendy’s.

All in all, this is proof that it is no longer enough in the food franchise contemporary marketplace to have rock-bottom prices. Food franchises will have to be inventive in how they tempt customers.
