Bricks 4 Kidz Franchise Cost & Fees
Date of Incorporation: 2009
Franchising Since: 2009
Headquarters: St. Augustine, Florida
Business Description: BFK Franchise Company, LLC is the franchisor. Bricks 4 Kidz franchisees own and operate a service business within a defined exclusive territory, providing project-based programs designed to teach principles and methods of engineering to children, ages 3-13+, using LEGO bricks.
Franchise Offer: Franchisees offer programs though after-school classes in preschools, elementary, and middle schools, in-school field trips, camps (during school holidays and summer vacation) and birthday parties.
Financial Assistance: The franchisor does not offer direct or indirect financing. The franchisor does not guarantee a franchisee’s note, lease or other obligations.
Training and Assistance: At least 2 weeks before the opening of the business, franchisees must attend 4 days of training for them and their initial staff (not to exceed 4 individuals). The training encompasses sales, marketing and business management, as well as the systems and procedures for operating the business and must be completed to the franchisor’s satisfaction by them and their staff (if any). The training will take place at the franchisor’s Florida office. If the franchisor offers additional training programs franchisees are not required to attend. The franchisor also will provide franchisees 1 day of on-site training. If franchisees request on-site training, and the franchisor is able to do so, then franchisees must pay an $800 per diem.
Territory: The Franchise Agreement grants franchisees the right to operate one business only within the protected territory as defined in the Franchise Agreement. The Protected Territory is a specific, mutually-agreed upon marketing area containing a population of at least 50,000 people. In designating the Territory the franchisor takes into account the demographics of the Territory, as well as the number of public and private elementary and middle schools (at least 15 elementary and 3 middle schools in aggregate), and the number of preschools. The Territory will be designated by one or more zip codes.
Term of Agreement and Renewal: The length of the initial franchise term is 10 years. If in good standing, the franchisee may renew for an additional term of 10 years.
Obligations and Restrictions: Franchisees (if an individual, or one or more of the principals or partners if a corporation or partnership) must personally supervise the day-to-day operations of the business. If franchisees do not personally supervise day-to-day operations, they must designate a fulltime manager to engage in such supervision. Franchisees may only offer Bricks 4 Kidz services under the Bricks 4 Kidz trademark in the Protected Territory and only those that are authorized by the franchisor and conform to its standards and specifications.
