What do 7-Eleven and Taco Bell have in common? Two things are sure: both are in the business of distributing food products and both appreciate the value of increasing convenience for customers on the go.

The very concept of 7-Eleven’s network of stores around the world is focused on making it easy for customers to find what they need. So easy that the brand’s penchant for availability is firm: 24/7 open doors (a bonus that customers have come to love and depend on). One of the key defining aspects of the franchise, this kind of convenience has certainly set the brand apart over the years.

The name itself originates from its operating hours of 7am to 11pm dating all the way back to the brand’s start under that same name in the 1940s. Yet even further back into the 1920s, from a makeshift market designed for convenience in Dallas, Texas, what would become the 7-Eleven we all know today was already operating from 7am to 11pm.  

Applying the principles behind this same customer convenience to future franchisees, and in an effort to bring locations to select neighborhoods across the country, until mid-summer of this year on June 30, 2015, franchisees in select cities and states will pay absolutely no franchise fee—a cost-cutting promotional reduction of up to 80K.

Now, in line with this appreciation for customers on the move seeking convenience, Taco Bell has taken ordering meals on the go to a new level—and customers are responding. A launch last year of a mobile app intended to make it easier for customers to search for all things Taco Bell has met with considerable success (about two million installs since the launch).

Some features of the app of course include ordering meals, though customers are able to find their local Taco Bell, search through specific types of menu items and find ingredients and detailed pricing to completely personalize and securely pay for purchases with pick-up or drive-thru options. They can also access deals only available with mobile purchases through the app and see select monthly spotlighted menu items that update regularly, among other perks.
