The Mexican Association of Franchises (AMF) was founded by six companies in February 1989. The franchise industry is an important source of employment and wealth creation in Mexico. There are an estimated 1,300 franchise systems in the country, based in over 70 different sectors. According to the AMF, the turnover of this sector in Mexico is about 85 billion dollars annually and directly employs more than 700,000 people.
The AMF aims to protect the interests franchising sector in Mexico, providing its associates services and benefits to raise their standards of quality and reduce costs through participation in various government and private forums, and the organization and development of events of interest to the industry.
Currently, the association holds two franchise fairs a year.
