Johnny Rockets was recently honored with the 2016 Tech Accelerator Award at FSTEC, one of the industry's most compelling technology events focused exclusively on foodservice. In partnership with Restaurant Business Magazine, FSTEC recognized Johnny Rockets as the full service restaurant winner based on the brand's introduction of numerous new technologies in restaurants across the world. The company's focus on technology over the last year has directly impacted operations, including enhancing order accuracy, food preparation speed and quality of service.
"At Johnny Rockets, we recognize the importance of heavily investing in technology, and are constantly seeking new ways to improve," says Harry Yu, senior director of I.T. at Johnny Rockets. "We strive to offer best-in-class service and food for our guests and are honored to be recognized today by Restaurant Business Magazine for implementing technology that directly impacts the guests we serve. We look forward to continuing to source new technologies that provide better, faster service and higher quality food for our customers."
In 2016, Johnny Rockets began testing and rolling out self-ordering kiosks, high-efficiency kitchen equipment and table top ordering and payment systems. In conjunction with the new technologies, Johnny Rockets also began offering its Drive Thru and Express prototypes, which provide the Johnny Rockets dining experience to consumers on-the-go.
The focus of both prototypes is to meet consumers where they are and provide them with Johnny Rockets' classic all-American fare at a faster speed. In order to support the prototypes' smaller-sized kitchens and improve food preparation time, Johnny Rockets updated its kitchen equipment package by sourcing high-efficiency technologies, including clamshell grills that reduce cook time to just over a minute, while still delivering tasty, juicy burgers.
Johnny Rockets received the Tech Accelerator Award during a ceremony at FSTEC in Dallas. The award recognizes brands who demonstrate commitment to leading innovation and adaptation of technology.
