Local schools that lack both art classes and the funding to offer such creative enrichment programs may now be able to do both.   An international children's art education franchise company is bringing art classes to students and a way to raise funds for PTA/PTOs, all in one.

"The kids need creative and stimulating elements, such as art, in their daily education," says Shell Herman, president of KidzArt. All students receive a one-hour art lesson at school from KidzArt, who provides the supplies and instructor.  Each child completes a drawing which is then scanned and returned to the student with an ID number.  Parents are then directed to the KidzArt products' website where they can order a variety of products, from aprons to key chains, featuring their child's artwork.  The school then receives proceeds from each product ordered. 

"We want to make it easy," says Herman.  "There's little effort on the school's part but it's a win-win for them and the kids.   Plus, the parents get an opportunity to own their child’s artwork on keepsakes or useful household items while supporting the school."

Additionally, all students and their families receive a free online gallery to display and post their art work.  Any family member can upload artwork to their personal gallery and have it imprinted on merchandise.  The school receives profits from all associated sales.

Because parents place orders online and products are shipped directly to them, volunteers and PTA/PTOs have no administrative duties, yet their schools still reap a percentage of the profits.  Unlike one-time fundraisers, KidzArt Products lets schools continue to generate profits by encouraging parents to reorder items or purchase products online for special occasions throughout the school year.
