The new commitment calls for all franchisees and company-owned cafes to utilize biodegradable products which will range from knives, forks and spoons to cups, napkins and bottle drinks.
“We are into good health,” states Douglas Keane, president of The Salad Bowl Franchise Corporation. “It only makes sense to expand our successful business into providing for better health for our planet.”
The new program came as a result of many of The Salad Bowl’s regular customers requesting the company to go green. “It is not surprising that the individuals who want to eat healthier are more concerned about the health of our planet and want to make a contribution to protecting it,” states Keane.
Currently, The Salad Bowl operates in four states, but is aggressively marketing its franchise concept throughout the U.S. New units are under development in Beverly Hills, California, El Paso, Texas, Las Vegas, Nevada and Phoenix, Arizona.
