In 2011, not only did Express associates set a company record by working a combined total of 3 million hours in one week, but Express also topped $2.1 billion in temporary sales. It’s the strongest sales record in the company’s 29-year history. Due to employers relying heavily on contingent workers during an uncertain economy, our sales were up 22% over 2010.
These record numbers are a sign of a changing job market as staffing companies like Express have had major impact on U.S. job growth. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the contingent staffing industry added nearly half a million workers and accounted for 91% of total non-farm job growth from June 2009 to June 2011.
Because of record numbers, Express’s global impact and continuing growth in the future, more than 300 media outlets from across the U.S. have featured Express and our tremendous success. From local newspapers to international news distributors, the success of Express has not been ignored, with coverage in many media, from The Wall Street Journal and Fox Small Business Center to PR Newswire, Yahoo! and others.
For 2012, Express expects company growth to top 18% and plans to award 64 new franchise locations in the U.S. and Canada.
