In 2015, Captain D’s showcased its seafood expertise and product innovation with the introduction of new menu items including the Parmesan Crusted Tilapia, Homestyle Fish Tenders and Creamy Shrimp Scampi. Through strategic rollouts of new products and limited-time menu promotions system-wide, the brand established an all-time system-wide AUV record, marking Captain D’s third consecutive year of AUV record growth. Captain D’s also named Ben Patel, Jim and Val McClure, and Brian Smith and Rodney Coats as Developers of the Year, and honored John Murphy, Ronnie Newell and Rob Gassel with the Mission and Values Award.
The second quarter of 2016 marked Captain D’s 19th consecutive quarter of system-wide growth, generating a 3.1 percent system-wide same store sales increase, along with a surge of new franchise and corporate growth. Coupled with its ongoing menu innovation, Captain D’s credits its new restaurant design with contributing to the brand’s compounding success. To date, 47 percent of all restaurants have been re-imaged to the brands new vibrant, coastal design, with another 50 locations to be remodeled by the end of this year. With these efforts, Captain D’s has remained true to what it does best — serving high-quality seafood with warm hospitality at an affordable price in a welcoming atmosphere.
