About This Video
| This 2023 TMAD Conference video walks through the Teriyaki Madness technology stack and where the brand is taking it next. The framing throughout is that TMAD has historically operated a couple of years ahead of the rest of the QSR category — the brand had its own app, online ordering, and delivery-partner integrations well before COVID, which is what let franchisees recover sales within a month of the pandemic hitting. The next-generation feature in development is customer tracking. An app integration will recognize when a customer places an order, monitor their location en route to the shop, and let staff hand the food over the moment the customer pulls in — making the brand effectively faster than a drive-thru without needing a drive-thru lane and positioning Teriyaki Madness against QSR competitors moving to drive-thru formats. Profit Keeper is the new financial-visibility layer. Altimetric, the back-of-house management system, is rolling out alongside it to track inventory and assist with scheduling, with the goal of finding back-of-house efficiencies that let owners shift labor to the front of house and improve guest experience. The brand's existing partnerships have already moved real economics. Teriyaki Madness integrated with Olo for digital menu and Punch for app and loyalty seven years ago. Because Olo's platform lets customers order directly while still receiving delivery, franchisees have saved $1.7 million in commission fees since 2020 alone — a structural economic advantage compared with paying full third-party commission rates. |
