Training Overview: The franchisor will conduct an initial training program that the designated manager (which is the franchisee, if the franchisee is not a corporation or other business entity) must attend and complete to its satisfaction. Although initial training is mandatory for the designated manager, it is also available by request for franchisee’s employees, specifically one office assistant and up to two additional field or office assistants with prior approval from the franchisor and additional fees. The franchisor does not charge for initial training for the owner, designated manager, one office assistant and two additional field or office support personnel at the franchisee’s request and the franchisor’s consent. Training may be conducted at the corporate headquarters in Plano, Texas, the affiliated-owned location in Roseville, California, or any qualified training location designed by the franchisor. The initial training program covers all material aspects of the operation of a The Glass Guru business. Periodically, the franchisor may require that previously trained and experienced franchisees, managers or employees attend refresher-training programs to be conducted at the franchisor’s headquarters or another location. The franchisor may hold a convention of franchisees, or regional workshops or other educational events, and if the franchisor does, franchisees and/or the designated manager must attend any convention.

Territory Granted: Franchisees will receive an exclusive territory which the franchisor refers to as the area of primary responsibility (APR). The area of primary responsibility is an area surrounding the franchise business location and is defined using US zip codes. This area is considered the geographic market boundary for the franchise business. The population of an area of primary responsibility for a franchise business will typically range from a minimum of 250,000 to 1,250,000. Population should be determined by referencing the most recent figures available from the United States Census Bureau at the time the area of primary responsibility is designated. As long as the Franchise Agreement is in full force and effect, the franchisor will not establish or operate or grant others the right to establish and operate a The Glass Guru business at any location within the area of primary responsibility. In order to maintain rights to the area of primary responsibility, franchisees must the minimum performance requirements specified in the Franchise Agreement.

Obligations and Restrictions: The franchise business must always be under the overall supervision of an owner of the franchisee. A designated manager, who may be an owner or an employed manager, must manage the day-to-day operations of the franchise business on a full-time basis. The designated manager need not have any equity interest in the franchisee entity. Franchisees must operate the franchise business in strict conformity with the methods, standards and specifications in the manual and as the franchisor may require otherwise in writing. Franchisees may not deviate from these standards, specifications and procedures without the franchisor’s written consent. Franchisees must offer the services and products the franchisor specifies in strict accordance with its standards and specifications.

Term of Agreement and Renewal: The length of the initial franchise term is 10 years. Franchisees may renew for two additional terms of 10 years each, if requirements are met.

Financial Assistance: The franchisor does not offer direct or indirect financing. The franchisor does not guarantee a franchisee’s note, lease or obligation. If franchisees are an honorably discharged U.S. veteran who meets the qualifications for purchasing a franchise, the franchisor will discount the non-refundable initial franchise fee by an amount equal to 10%.
