Training Overview: The franchisor will provide an initial training program for up to two people, one of which must be the person responsible for the general oversight and management of the franchised business. All of the initial training is conducted at the franchisor’s corporate office in Cincinnati, Ohio. The initial training program is mandatory. Franchisees, or the person designated as responsible for the general management of the franchised business, must begin the training program within three months after they sign the franchise agreement and complete it to the franchisor’s satisfaction. The initial training program focuses on operating a business that provides residential and commercial maintenance services. If franchisees wish to expand the business to provide maid services, they may attend an additional three day training program in Cincinnati, Ohio. Currently the franchisor does not provide or require franchisees to attend additional training programs or refresher courses after their successful completion of the initial training program. The franchisor reserves the right to require additional training in the future.

Territory Granted: The franchisor will grant franchisees an exclusive territory delineated by postal codes. The postal codes that comprise the territory franchisees will receive for the base initial franchise fee will contain a population between 175,000 and 200,000 people. If the population within the postal codes exceeds 200,000 people, franchisees must pay an additional $500 for all or part of every 1,000 people over 200,000. The franchisor has the exclusive right to identify and control business with special accounts, subject to the franchisee’s right to participate in special account business in the territory. A “special account” is a business, association, or other organization with members, affiliates, policyholders, offices, stores, plants, buildings or other physical facilities that are not confined to the territory of a single TruBlue franchisee or company-owned or affiliated business.

Obligations and Restrictions: Franchisees are required to form a limited liability business entity to operate the TruBlue franchise and designate an individual to personally manage the franchised business on a full-time basis. The manager must be approved by the franchisor and must have successfully completed the training program. Franchisees are not required to participate personally in the direct operation of the business, but the franchisor recommends that they do so. Franchisees may not use the premises on which the franchised business is located for any purpose other than the operation of the franchised business and the sale of authorized products and services. Franchisees are required to offer and sell only those products and services that the franchisor has authorized. Franchisees are prohibited from offering any other products or services without the franchisor’s approval.

Term of Agreement and Renewal: The length of the initial franchise term is 10 years. If franchisees wish to do so, and they satisfy the required pre-conditions to renewal, the franchisor will offer them the right to obtain two additional 10-year terms.

Financial Assistance: The franchisor does not offer direct or indirect financing. The franchisor does not guarantee a franchisee’s note, lease, or obligation.
