About This Video
This video features Ed Stripay, who opened his Junk King franchise in November of 2012 and is now in his twelfth year of ownership. Ed is candid that he was not actually looking for a franchise. The opportunity came across his desk as an environmentally friendly recycling business, and only after pursuing it did he learn it was a Junk King franchise. His due diligence proved out the business model, and that is what ultimately made up his mind, even though he had no intentions of owning a franchise at the start. What makes the video especially moving is Ed's reflection on fulfillment. He describes the customers he serves who are in tough spots, whether facing a bereavement or a hoarding situation, and how he can actually see the stress lift off them. He also speaks about being there for his employees and offering them a real opportunity and a place to call home at Junk King. For Ed, life is about experiences and relationships, and he says he has had some of the best of both while owning this franchise. That blend of purpose and community is what keeps him grateful more than a decade in. Watch the video to hear his heartfelt story.
