Inc. Magazine and the non-profit company Working Workplaces have partnered to create an excellent contest for thriving small businesses. The 2010 Top Small Company Workplaces Awards will honor the American businesses that have created the best businesses environments.

Applying costs $100, but there’s a lot to gain by submitting an application. Practically-speaking, applying for the award allows you to take the time out to assess the health of your workplace in a structured way. If you do win, your business or franchise will benefit from the huge notoriety that these awards provide. If you run an independent, North-American based business that is privately-owned, employs less than 750 people and has been in business at least three years, you are eligible for the Winning Workplaces awards.

The only hitch is that the application deadline is Friday, January 22nd. If you think your franchise is cut out for these awards, apply today before it is too late.
