Training Overview: The franchisor provides an initial training program in or near Reading, Pennsylvania or another location of its choosing. Currently, initial training consists of 12 hours classroom training and 12 hours of on-the-job training. The franchisor requires that franchisees attend initial training along with any general manager if they have one. At present, the franchisor does not have any additional training or refresher courses for franchisees but reserves the right to add such classes later.

Territory Granted: The franchisor grants franchisees a territory in which to operate the franchised business, as set forth in the Franchise Agreement. Franchisees will receive an exclusive territory within which the franchisor promises not to establish either a company-owned or franchised outlet selling the same or similar goods or services under the same or similar trademarks or service marks. The typical territory will normally include an amount of single family dwelling units of 180,000-240,000 and will be for a specific geographic area that the franchisor defines by zip code.

Obligations and Restrictions: Franchisees are not required to participate personally in the direct operation of the franchised business, but the franchisor recommends it. Franchisees may instead hire a general manager to run the franchised business day to day, but the general manager must first successfully complete the initial training. Franchisees may offer for sale through their franchised business only such products and services that the franchisor has approved in writing. The franchisor may designate products or services as optional or mandatory. Franchisees may not sell any goods or services that the franchisor has not authorized or approved. Franchisees are bound by a two-year 25-mile post-term non-compete agreement that prohibits franchisees from offering competitive services.

Term of Agreement and Renewal: The length of the initial franchise term is 10 years. The Franchise Agreement can be renewed for successive terms if they are in compliance with their Franchise Agreement and renewal requirements are met.

Financial Assistance: The franchisor offers installment payment options on the initial franchise fee, depending upon the franchisee’s creditworthiness. Otherwise, the franchisor does not offer direct or indirect financing. The franchisor does not guarantee a franchisee’s note, lease or obligation.
