I don’t know about you, but I love big numbers. Especially when they have to do with business and money.

And speaking of big numbers, right now, thousands of people are currently exploring thousands of different franchise and business opportunities. But, I don’t want to focus on them in general. I want to focus on a sector in franchising you may not be considering. A sector with big numbers.

263 Million

That, according to Statista, is the number of vehicles that are registered in the United States (as of 2015). That means if you own a franchise business in the automotive sector, you have 263 million opportunities to make money. With that in mind, I’m going to provide a few examples of franchises that provide automotive services and products to the owners of those vehicles.

Automotive Maintenance/Repair

According to Cars.com, the average cost for a new vehicle is $31,400! That’s a lot of money. That alone is a powerful reason for consumers (and fleet owners) to maintain their vehicles.

If you’d like to get involved in the much-needed business of vehicle maintenance, there are dozens of franchise opportunities available. Some of these franchises perform general maintenance and repair. They can do everything from tire rotations to muffler replacement.

Specialized Automotive Repair

One the best thing about franchising these days are the many choices you have.

For example, you can choose to invest in a franchise that does it all, like the franchise opportunities I talked about above. Conversely, you can choose to buy a franchise that’s more specialized. For instance, if you want, you can buy an automotive franchise that’s focused solely on oil changes.

If you decide to do that, one advantage you’ll have as a franchisee is that your pool of employees will be a lot larger than if you owned a full-blown auto repair shop. That’s because full-service auto repair businesses need to employ certified automotive mechanics because of the types of repairs that are performed. And they get paid more than non-certified mechanics.

But if you owned an oil-change franchise, you would only need to hire people who knew how (or could be trained) to perform oil changes. Based on that fact alone, your payroll costs would be lower than if you owned a full-service automotive repair business.

In addition to oil-change franchises, there are franchise concepts that specialize in transmission repair, or tire repair and replacement.

Automotive Painting

Today’s new cars and trucks look beautiful.

Part of the reason has to do with the high-quality paint being used today, along with continually improving paint application techniques being used at factories.

Consumers benefit from this because their vehicles look better, longer. That is until they have a fender-bender. When that happens, they need to get the damage repaired. That always means a trip to the body shop. But, it must be the right one.

You may not know this, but there are several franchises that provide automotive body work and painting services. These companies use the latest technology-the kind of technology that’s needed to restore vehicles that have been involved in accidents to their original condition. Check them out here.

Other Automotive Franchise Opportunities

In addition to the automotive franchises I just mentioned, there are numerous other opportunities. They involve things like rustproofing, detailing, auto glass repair/replacement, aftermarket product sales, used-car dealer services, rental car services, and one that’s at the high-end of franchise business investments, car washes.

All in all, automotive franchises provide almost unlimited opportunities for growth. It’s just a matter of taking the time to investigate what is a huge sector of franchising. Get started by checking out the Franchise Direct Automotive Franchise page.
