The UPS Store Announce $22 Million Loan Program
The UPS Store has built its global reputation thanks in large part to its successful and motivated franchisees. As the franchise continues to expand, it has announced an exciting initiative to attract new franchise talent.
The franchise says that it is going to make $22 million in loans available to new franchisees in order to get their business off the ground. That’s a huge investment that The UPS Store is making in reaching new markets. The breakdown of that investment is as follows: $15 million will go to new locations - leading to the creation of 75 new stores – while the other $7.5 million will be made available to new owners looking to purchase existing stores.
President of the company Stuart Mathis told the Atlanta Journal Constitution that he is expecting big things from the investment.
“In this current environment, it’s much more difficult (to find funding). I think it will accelerate sales.”
Interestingly, the AJC story notes that The UPS Store are looking to expand in non-traditional venues “including hotels, college campuses and military bases”. We’re anxious to find out how this next phase in The UPS Store’s growth manifests itself. No doubt it will mean big things for people hungry to break into franchising.
