A team at Franchise Direct has spent several months compiling and verifying information on over 5,000 franchises worldwide in order to produce the FRANCHISE DIRECT TOP 100 GLOBAL FRANCHISES. We have judged all the companies on the same objective merits regardless of their size or country of origin. The only requirement for this ranking is that each franchise must be actively franchising.
The most important factors that we took into consideration when ranking each franchise were the number of units the franchise system has, how many countries the franchise has expanded into, their international unit numbers and growth, and the franchises stability and financial strength. We also took into account how many years the franchisor has been franchising, if they offer financing, the support plans that they have in place for the franchisee and if they have received any awards or recognition from recognized bodies.
The environmental impact and the local and national projects engaged in by the franchises are increasingly more important. So for this reason we took into consideration aspects such as what community projects or charity work the franchise is engaged in and what procedures have been put in place in order to make the franchise more environmentally friendly.
The above criteria were then subjected to the Franchise Directs scoring system from which the Top 100 Franchises were derived.
