Description: The franchisee will operate a Venuto's Old World Pizza store which specializes in the sale of pizza and other authorized products.
Franchise Offer: The franchisor franchises the right to own and operate a retail pizza store under the system and the marks from an approved location. The Venuto's Old World Pizza store is a carefully designed concept, specializing in pizza and other authorized products at retail locations primarily in shopping centers, strip centers and similar retail locations with appropriate parking for customers of the store. Venuto's Old World Pizza stores offer carry-out service, delivery service and may also have sit-down facilities depending on the location.
Financial Assistance: The franchisor does not offer direct or indirect financing.
Training and Assistance: The franchisee and/or the designated manager must attend the initial training program at no additional charge. Training will consist of practical on-site activities explaining methods and procedures involved in the business, including product knowledge, record keeping procedures, merchandising, purchasing, advertising, sales techniques, customer relations, sanitation, quality control, store layout and inventory control. The initial training program is learner-controlled and may extend to as much as three weeks to include three days of classroom training until sufficient operation proficiency is achieved. Before opening, the franchisor will help with site selection and preparation of the franchise.
Territory: The franchisor will grant a territory (protected area) surrounding the approved location. The franchisor will not establish or franchise any other Venuto's Old World Pizza store within the protected area. Typically, a Venuto's Old World Pizza store is located in an area that has a minimum population of 35,000 people within the store's protected area.
Term of Agreement and Renewal: The term of the franchise agreement is 10 years. It can be renewed for additional 10-year terms.
Obligations and Restrictions: It is recommended that the franchisee (if an individual, or one or more of the principals or partners if a corporation or partnership) personally supervise the day-to-day operations of the store. If the franchisee does not personally supervise day-to-day operations, they must designate a full-time manager to engage in such supervision. The full-time manager must devote their personal full-time attention and best efforts to the management and operation of the business.
The franchisee must not offer or sell any branded products or supplies at the store without Venuto's prior written consent. The franchisee must offer and sell branded products and supplies, which have been approved by the franchisor, only in the manner prescribed by the franchisor.
The franchisee must offer delivery and carry-out services to all customers within the protected area. The franchisee may offer delivery services to customers outside of the protected area, including within the protected area of another Venuto's Old World Pizza franchisee, so long as the franchisee does not actively solicit customers (including corporate catering accounts), or promote or market the store through direct marketing or targeted advertising, in another franchisee's protected area.
