Dave Schaefers speaks about Driven Brands Automotive Franchise Concepts

Dave Schaefers, vice president of business development at Driven Brands joined Lillie Burroughs of Franchise Direct at the IFA convention for a discussion about this successful automotive franchise company.

Overseeing proven automotive franchises like Meineke, not to mention MAACO, Econo Lube N’ Tune, Drive N Style, AutoQual and AeroQual, Driven Brands, as Dave says, is “a franchise company that specialises in the automotive franchise world and has a lot of different franchises that we represent".

Driven Brands provides franchisees with outstanding support including a training website known as Tortal, plus “tons and tons and tons of training”.

Driven Brands is unique because of its “really rich history in the industry” thanks to its involvement with a number of franchises that have been successful in the automotive sector since the 1970s

And despite the economic downturn, Dave says that Driven Brands continues to thrive.

“Consumers are holding onto their cars. We’re getting more cars in our stores. We are not seeing the same crunch as other concepts. You hear the term ‘recession-proof’ a lot, but ours is a pretty recession-proof industry. All the metrics that we are looking at are showing positive growth.”

As for the future, Dave predicts that Driven Brands will “continue to grow. Our goal has been to acquire other automotive concepts. I think Meineke will continue to grow, MAACO as well. Driven Brands offers more than anyone else out there.”
